Global warming is a fact and conserving energy is becoming the overriding consideration in almost everything we do. The same is true of the construction industry in which the Government, consumers and designers are demanding the use of more and more energy efficient items such as windows.

In the wake of rising energy bills, media coverage on climate change plus the introduction of Home Improvement Packs a timber frame window such as the Ecotilt window with a high energy rating is therefore an attractive proposition to all concerned.

It is a timber vertical sliding sash window that has the unbelievably high energy rating of B. Both sashes can be removed for cleaning and maintenance from inside which overcomes the temporary working at heights directive.
It has the best energy rating of any timber sash window currently available on the market and is achieved by using softwood (a sustainable resource).
It is aesthetically pleasing, offering classic good looks and although it is a tilting and sliding window, in normal operation it looks just like any other timber sash window.
Ecotilt is the only timber sash window to have passed BS7950 Enhanced Security for Windows and has received a coveted Secured by Design (SBD) Award.

On 24th September 2007, Forest Hall Joinery received a coveted Secured by Design (SBD) Award for Ecotilt vertical sliding sash windows. Secured by Design is an initiative from the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) that aims to reduce crime through effective environmental design. The scheme also calls for the installation of security products that meet police-approved standards.

Forest Hall Joinery is the first company to manufacture Ecotilt, a vertical sliding sash window with enhanced security (BS 7950) and Secured by Design status. BS 7950 Advanced Security for Windows has never before been associated with timber sash windows. Stringent tests have to be implemented to gain the BS 7950 accreditation; the end result is a certified window with the most trusted levels of security possible.
